California African American Chamber of Commerce Economy Summit Highlights Power of Partnership, Leadership, and Opportunity in Sacramento

The California African American Chamber of Commerce (CAACC) Economy Summit convened on January 28, 2026 at the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel in Sacramento, uniting business leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and community partners around economic empowerment. The event centered on small-business growth, access to capital, infrastructure, innovation, and California's economic future, with panel discussions offering practical strategies for Black-owned and diverse businesses to thrive long-term.


Governor Gavin Newsom delivered a video message, while State Controller Malia Cohen, State Treasurer Fiona Ma, and Undersecretary Melinda Grant participated directly, reinforcing commitments to transparency and equitable access to resources.


CAACC leaders highlighted that access to information and relationships remains critical for Black entrepreneurs. The summit closed with an awards ceremony honoring Secretary Toks Omishakin, diversity program leader Danetta Jackson, and baseball legend Dusty Baker, whose remarks about lifting others through success resonated deeply with attendees. “Success means nothing if you don’t bring others with you,” the baseball legend told the crowd.
