California Leaders Magazine Announces Official Launch in
Los Angeles, Bringing Together Voices Shaping the State’s Economic Future
Los Angeles, CA — April 15, 2026 — California Leaders, a new statewide media platform dedicated to elevating the voices and stories of influential leaders across California, will officially launch its inaugural issue with a live event at City Club Los Angeles on April 15, 2026.
Founded by Christopher Luna, Publisher & CEO, California Leaders was created to go beyond headlines and highlight the real stories behind leadership—focusing on the defining moments, values, and decisions that shape those guiding California’s most impactful institutions. The publication is led editorially by Rick Gibson, Editor-in-Chief, whose leadership helps shape the platform’s narrative-driven approach to storytelling.
“This platform was built to tell the stories that don’t always get told,” said Luna. “Behind every title is a journey—one filled with challenges, lessons, and purpose. California Leaders is about capturing those moments and sharing them in a way that inspires others.”
The inaugural issue features cover leaders Stephen Cheung, President & CEO of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), and Ron Frierson, Chair of the LAEDC Board.
The issue also highlights influential leaders shaping California’s future across key sectors, including Gene Seroka, Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles; Joone Kim-Lopez, General Manager of Moulton Niguel Water District; and Dr. Thomas Parham, 11th President of California State University, Dominguez Hills—alongside additional voices across business, government, and community leadership.
The official launch event, titled “See the Cover, Hear the Leaders,” will serve as both a cover unveiling and a recorded leadership conversation. The evening will bring together executives, policymakers, and community leaders for a curated program featuring keynote remarks, panel discussions, and executive networking.
Los Angeles County Chair and First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis will serve as keynote speaker, joined by distinguished voices including Dr. Noel Hacegaba, CEO of the Port of Long Beach, and Maria S. Salinas, President & CEO of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.
The event is proudly presented by Mott MacDonald, a global engineering, management, and development consultancy known for its commitment to innovative infrastructure and connected thinking. Their partnership reflects a shared vision of highlighting the leadership driving California’s economic and community impact.
California Leaders is more than a magazine—it is an integrated platform that includes a podcast, live events, and leadership workshops designed to foster meaningful connections and elevate leadership across California.
The publication will be distributed through a targeted network of chambers of commerce, industry associations, and executive communities, ensuring it reaches decision-makers and leaders shaping the state’s future.
